Was at the home depot yesterday looking at lights and shit. Are halogens any good for growing? Found some with a fixture that was in my price range.

No, if you want cheap get CFL bulbs they will work better

Ghetto grow #2 in progress. Using 100 watt cfl's this time around. Pretty bright. Only been 48 hrs and I've got 2 sprouters already. Really surprised with the lights. They put out almost no heat at all. Also trying my hand at tobacco along with it. Got a 1000 seeds for 3 bucks. Can't really lose on that one.

So finally got first set of true leaves. Everything looks great, but I wish they weren't so leggy. I've basically got the lites sitting on them.
As for the tobacco...hmmm....NOTHING! Just been 7 days though.

Can't right now. They come from random bag seeds from over the years so who knows what breed they are. They are about 2 inches high right now. I'm used to growing trees, which are kind of slow. But these things just grow like WEEDS..lol.

So made the lights a little closer yesterday and it seems to have helped. First true leaves are now getting bigger and bigger and they seem to have stopped reaching for the lite

What's the deal with pics around here?
I mean talking bout the weed is one thing, but posting a pic that I know is tagged with all kind of my information plus the fact that it's a pic of weed makes me edgy.

Transplanted my 4 babies yesterday. Very healthy root system. Sturdy little plants. Quite pleased so far. I know this grow will not really yield much, but it's been quite educational
Just hope at least one is a female.
