Hey there, I'm very new to hydroponics, but hopefully this isn't too ignorant of a question. I have all my hydroponic system just waiting for things to take off, but I was wondering when my baby's are ready and I get everything set up, the next time I change my water and nutrients should I change my rocks as well? If so, how do I go about doing it with the roots everywhere and such. Thanks in advance.
No need to change rocks until the grow is over man. IMO you should flush once at least every two weeks, I do it weekly. By flushing I simply mean run three times the size of pot with clean water.
Would also like to note nutrient most likely won't be needed for three to four weeks after sprout of a seed.
I start mine in my system. I just use plain ph balanced water instead of a nutrient mix. Until thee are two to three sets of fan leaves. Then I start out with a very low feed mix for the first couple weeks of feeding.
