For all you Instagram users:
There are some awesome grows on there that I'm following. A couple guys in Oregon, in particular.
Just wondered if any of you had a grow on Instagram that I could follow. I love seeing other people's work.

FUCK THAT! Unless what you're doing is currently legal where you live then I wouldn't bother putting pics on Instagram, especially now that Facebook owns it and we all know that Facebook doesn't give one fuck about privacy. Facebook is all about running a profitable family friendly business and it's easy for law enforcement agencies to get your information from them. I'm not sure if Instagram strips your photos of the metadata either but the last thing you want is to accidentally have the GPS coordinates of your grow in the photo's metadata lest the pigs or thieves bust down your door and take your crop, freedom and possibly your life.

ya i post pictures of buds and joints, but nothing "heaty" (same as on here).
I doubt the feds are gonna kick down my door for being a smoker...
but if your a LEGAL grower, then post your grow dude. There are MANY people who post there grows on insta. look at all the growers im following

The GPS coordinates in the metadata are still a worry since many modern devices do it automatically and many aren't aware of this.

Yep. When a lot of my friends post pictures, my FB add-on automatically maps it for me. I can usually see within a mile radius of where they are

People are silly. They put so much online to try to impress people but leave themselves vulnerable. They check into places or leave status updates about how they're away on holiday and it just screams ROB ME NOW. Check out what happened in Australia last week:

I've warned multiple people on the Shroomery about their mistakes. Luckily I'm not a prick. The had their email address listed in their info and with that I found their Facebook identifies which revealed personal information about them. They might also list their Skype username and other information too. Sending them a message with their personal information makes them edit their profile pretty fucking fast.
Using multiple email addresses and accounts/profiles online is a good way to get around issues of privacy.
