want to post pics but can't .... the top sprouting fan leaves were cut round 80% of the way down.... instead of branching though it just looks mutilated

if you fuck up a FIM you just topped it.
no worries. i just did that. i think i successfully FIMd one and ended up just topping the other one.

I'm not sure if I topped though cause' if I topped that would be more like removing 90-100% right?
I removed 60-80% if anything.... that's gonna FIM most likely right? lol I don't know what to expect,

upload a picture if you can. even then it might be hard to tell if you FIMd it or topped it.
you'll know in a couple weeks what happened. if you made a cut you at least topped it.

If you FIM properly, the leaves are going to look mutilated. I wouldn't even recommend using this method though, I feel that topping and LST will get you better results.

yeah the leaves are grown out and the tips are all cut off :/
why do you recommend topping? and I'm not even sure what that other thing is off the bat but i'll post later after i do a little research 
I was thinking a bushy bonsai plant, or SCROGing so that it spiraled and using all the bottom shit for clones but now I'm starting to think that's a small bit ambitious.

LST is low stress training. That and topping will get you just as bushy of a plant as FIM, if not bushier.

LST is bending the plant to get better sun exposure correct? High Stress Training is actually cutting the plant?
and thanks I haven't touched the mutilated leaves b/c the are the only ones that look healthy :P everything else i thinks is too much nitro not enough phos and not enough sulfur?
anyway yeah I'm not gonna top em,...... the FIM does not look like it worked out though.
