23 watts of CFL enough for rooting clones?
    #606278 - 01/23/12 09:27 AM (12 years, 2 months ago)

I know they say not to put clones directly under your normal veg lights. I have an extra 23 watter in my drawer, but just one.

Currently, I clone directly to soil with no humidity dome. I just clip, dip, and put it in the wet soil under my normal veg lights. I dislike this because its hard to tell when the clones have rooted. I want to make a small humidity dome, but it won't (currently) fit in my veg cabinet without me having to flower some shit early.

I'm planning on building this small box and just using a single CFL to root the ladies. Will that be sufficient? I could always add on later at some point, but this mama is getting far too big and she needs to be cut back asap. I'm hoping I can get to the hydro store this Friday to get the cubes.

Unless you actually need the clones right now just cut her back and toss em.

It probably would be enough light to root them, ive never personally done it with that little amount of light though

I root my clones with christmas LED lights 24/7 , WORKS great for me. I place and tape 100 to 150 multi color christmas lights on top my Jiffy humidity dome and in 7 to 10 days I have roots. so I believe 23 watts is more than enough!
