Lincoln log grow room just starting off....

It is pretty much just a raw ass shed made outta logs. its a 14`X 10` area and the side wall has access to a pond filter where cooling water for a h20 lamp can be easily accessed.
Would a 1000 watt hps be to much and what are your thoughts on possibly using one of the new type MH grow/ HPS flower bulbs to make life simplier?
One other thing is air exchange..I have a 400 cfm vortex blower to make shure i have a positive pressure grow room but i dont know about what kind of discharge to make it all work right.
Any professional help is appreciated so thanks in advance. All i have ever grown in the past is with CFL`s so bear with me if i am kinda ignorant

1000 watts is not to much if i had 14'X10' i would want 4000 watts i like the mh/hps bulbs for flowering but never tried using them for seedlings/veg- its just not needed then. But some might argue. HORTILUX SUPER BLUE™ do you have good genetics to go with the rest of your investment? do you have any questions in particular?

I have 4 old 600 watt cfs lights for the seedlings As far as good genetics i am okay as per growery friends
My current situation: making shure that i coat every sq inch of my grow room with flat white paint and making shure no light is detected form the outside.
Im just starting off so using mylar isnt a major concern at this point.
I still have to black out 3 windows but i think its best to just seal it off using the same window coverings that are already there.
I have a nice heat/cool window unit that i will hook up to a humidistat.
What are my highest temps and the optimum humidity? I live in a area where it gets hot as shit in the summer.

Fuck yes thats a good link thanks Stoneth
i dont think ill need more than a 1000 watter if i use a light mover.
Heat is a big factor where i live and if i replace the tin roof with with clear greenhouse panels i dont think ill need more than 1000 watts.
The problem i see with a greenhouse panel is getting light when i dont want or need it during the flowering phase.
I just dont want to do stupid things this time and thats why i have a bunch of questions.

My grow room is 7 x 11 x 7 high. 4 x 8 useable space for growing. Don't forget you need to move around in there. Use 2, 1000 watt with Super Sun 2 hoods with 6inch Vortex inline fan to cool them. Also have an a/c widow unit. In the summer it runs all the time, even with a conopy temp of 90f. Personaly I rather have the extra light than a light mover. The people I've ask who use them are ajusting them all the time. I'm a stoner, what can I say. I grow at night to help out with the heat. So I would not want a roof were light could get out. Also have two fans for air circulation and a dehumidifier.

You seem like you know exactually what you are talking about and especially about the ac running 24/7 in the summertime in this area. having a greenhouse roof is just asking for trouble so that is axed.
Are you shure that a 6 inch vortex will cool that space with 2 1000 HPS watters?
I have several good fans from previous grows but i guess i need to buy a de-humidifier.
Thanks for your help Kapt

yes i forgot about moving around room, ive also had to particion off some room for the young ones.
Walls have been painted but i am still sealing off 3 windows to prevent light leakage
At first glance it seemed like a simple setup but when you really put your hands into it and start the work its a handfull.
I dug all my old lights out and its gonna be pretty nice considering i have 4 600 watt mogul cfl`s to lamp up the nursery.
My elect supply is fucked because all i have at this point is a very suspect cracked insulated 12/3 wiring.
Another concern is a dish network dish on the roof That has to be moved to the main houses roof for obvious reasons.
Running a new 30 amp service has to be done but thats no big deal. Im gonna run 60 amp service to the room thru a sub breaker box as per code
It will be sweet when i finish
