Will this screen work alright? (The large holes are 3inches by 1.5inches)
I am concerned about the wide space between the holes and the possibility for shoots to find their way through the small holes...
Also, do you think it will block out a significant amount of light?
Feedback would be appreciated.

Those holes look to be about the size mine are. But I'll be perfectly honest you're going to want to cut out the sections in between too. Just leave sing wire sections. It gets crowded quick.
I might re-tighten my screen here soon.

In order to grow good weed you need to be part carpenter, electrician, plumber, biologist, geneticist, chemist, and very willing to get dirty.
I've been working with power tools since I was 8, my dad is an electrical engineer who owned a 280 gal fish tank, and I studied biology with a specialty in genetics. Getting dirty comes naturally. I think my parents inadvertently trained me to be a weed grower.

I would go with a screen with bigger holes closer together. Like mentioned above it's gonna get way to crowded under there.
