Im not sure but my babies are having a lot of problem standing properly. They are about 5 inches high but seem to find a different one everyday on the verge of falling over. Im using Fox Farm and I feel that is the problem (not that its bad soil) but it is sooo loose it feels and Its really hard to get the babies to stand back up in the soil. I keep having compact soil around the stem to keep them up then eventually it loosens back up eventually anyways. Anyone have an opinions on this? I have a fan going on low in the room constantly going if that matters. All of them have pretty sturdy stems idk why they are havin problems.

the seedlings are falling over because the space between the plant and light is to far. you can plant up to the cotyledons and that stem will turn into roots. just dont over water. is your fan oscillating ? and if you think your soil is to loose then add something.

maybe try florescent or a smaller MH light for the beginning, as you can see 1000 hps isnt necessary or better.

Hes right, they're stretching because they are reaching for light before the stems have had a chance to strengthen.
You can move them closer, or, preferably, start seedlings under CFL for that very reason.
Alternatively, go to McDonalds and steal a fist full of straws. Cut them into 1 - 2 inch lengths and split them with a razor blade. They'll remain in their cylindrical shape, but you can split it open to get it around the stem. The straw will hold up your little seedlings
