Paranormal Activity 3 * 1
    #594734 - 10/30/11 10:56 AM (12 years, 4 months ago)

OK. I remember coming here and raging last year after PA2 sucking so hard. Probably in the related threads below after I post this haha.

I just watched the third one, and damn it was good. SO much better than the other two. And kinda sorta answered some questions you might have had, but also opened up like 5000 other questions, so I'd say they're going to undoubtedly milk another movie from this franchise.

If anyone has watched it, maybe you can answer my questions, I'll put them in spoiler tags.

If you haven't watched it and are considering it, go for it. I'd give the first one a 6/10, the second a 2/10 and the third an 8/10. That, and it'll only take you about 15 minutes to download if you have a half way decent connection.

OK I understand that the witch coven thing the dude was talking about was obviously what was going on at the end of the movie. I also understand they were "sacrificing" the one chick to the ghost.

What I don't get is, is it the girls grandma at the end there who takes her upstairs?

Did the mom know about the witch cult? She seemed to be oblivious. But the girls never talked about it in the other two movies, and she said she didn't remember any of the tapes.

Who stole the tapes at the beginning of the movie?

Do you think the girls real father died when they 'initiated' the older girl?

Mainly I wonder if the mom knew. I mean, obviously the grandma knew, because she had this crazy ritual in her house. If its something passed through the generations, why are the girls left completely oblivious to it?

See? So many unanswered questions. Paranormal Activity 4 is probably inevitable.

Edit: A lot of my questions are answered here:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20111021135724AAsbhHb

and a lot of unanswered questions remain here:

http://screenrant.com/paranormal-activity-ending-explained-2-kofi-137162/2/

So yeah, still sensing a 4th movie, but now I understand a bit better about some of the things I was confused on.

Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

I wouldn't mind checking those movies out if I actually had a computer w/ internet. One of my favorite things to do is get really high and watch the scariest/most fucked up film I can find, but movies these days suck.

I need to see The Human Centipede.

They aren't really all that scary. The third one is the most creepy by far. The second one is mostly just story building, and the first one was OK.

Stupid how they are in reverse order. Like I remember what happened in a movie I saw one (or two) years ago.

I didn't even remember there was a baby lol.

If the first one sucked, why'd you just watch the second one? And after the second one sucked, howd yo find the faith to watch the third?

So unfortunately I've only got one bowl left and since my fuckin guy ditched me(dunno if he got pinched or just retired, whatever the case I'm glad I got two ounces from him last time instead of just one) and I fuckin love watching a good movie really baked.  Well I like watching a bad movie really baked even more.  I've seen em sober and yeah they're a little boring sometimes but clearly a return to Blair Witch(I still love that movie).  Are these movies any good when you're high?

The first one didn't suck. It was OK. I've watched a lot worse movies, thats for sure. I love paranormal shit.

The second I saw in the theater for something to do, which was a mistake. I hated it, but now I know it was required for plot development. I guess thats an excuse, but they could have executed the movie a lot better.

I wasn't going to watch the third, but my buddy who saw number 2 with me and raged just as much as me said it was good. I trust his judgement of movies so I watched. And I'm glad I did.

Haha. Just wondering. I'm never really into sequels.

But I've seen a movie the other day that I'd rate as one of the top 5 movies Ive seen this year: Animal Kingdom. An indie aussie movie made last year.

Highly recommended from the Koopsta!

Well, they're prequels so it adds on to the story that was already there, which is neat I guess. Just kinda half assed the way they did it haha.

Whatever, I guess everyone likes something different :tongue2:

Yea I know what you mean, it can be a bit over the top.
I guess in that sense it was ok, but I was waiting to see the ghost's scary eyes up at the camera and that didn't happen.
But I noticed there are 2 versions??
