I've been playing conquest.  There is a lot of variety in terms of maps.  Seems pretty balanced thus far though people always complain about engies using RPGs against infantry, but deal with it.

It's just like people complaining about grenade launchers in CoD, it's all like "deal with it fagget and go kill him, he now has 1 less nade."

Then again people like to complain about shit like that.

Yea, people are like "ZOMG RPGs are to be used against vehicles!"

Bitch please, tell that to the Taliban.  RPGs are awesome anti-camping weaponry because if you are hiding behind a wall I will simply blow the wall up with you included.

see, and without the rpg do you know what they would bitch about? Camping. Personally i'm sponsered by coleman half the time, so idgaf about bitchers. If you hate it so much nade me, or tube me. Some maps in games will always have a camp spot that is to good NOT to camp in. While it's a cheap move in free for all; in a team game it's an effecfive way to hold a flank when your team is focused on an objective close by. i mean, i don't know how bf3 rpgs are. But i figure the solution to not getting killied by them is, just like in mw3, move or shoot them before they kill you. Which shouldnt be to hard.

so is anybody else completely dissapointed with this game

the thing i liked about the BF series was that it was very tactical and precise with huge maps

BF3 is more like call of duty with battlefield style gameplay

bad company two had wayyyy better graphics and ran on a much better engine IMO

ive tried playing BF3 4 or 5 times now and every time i die a little inside, i have been looking forward to this for years

I like BF2 more than this crap

wish I had a PC so I could still play BF2, or 2142

i hope they do some major improvements to BF3 in the future otherwise fuck EA and DICE

The game should be called bad company 3 as the gameplay does mimic bad company 2, which works out in my mind since I loved bad company 2.  The graphics are great on the PC which makes sense since the game was designed for it.  Plus, 64 player matches are a nice bonus to PC playing.

This game is pretty tactical if you play with a coherent squad.  Squad leaders need to learn to lead and set destination points for the squad.  A single competent squad can win games.  Radio beacons are awesome for attacking bases.

Overall I am happy with it.  It was what I was expecting, though the radar/map needs to be redone.  The colors sometimes mesh and beacons can get jumbled and blurred unless the map is made larger which is intrusive.

Well that sucks.

I wasn't going to comment about the graphics comment, but when i found this I was like "wtf"?

I just don't like using a mouse for FPS games, to me it's just not natural with the mouse; and while I could always hook my 360 controller to my PC I also just don't care. However enjoy it if you like it, if you don't return the game to gamestop on the 8th and get the new CoD/Elder Scrolls.

Also, about EA, We've all known EA is the devil. They're the ones that ruined Bioware. Why do you think Dragonage 2 sucked monkey balls "I accidentally... a whole chantry"... not enough   for one hand. I don't know if I've ranted about EA here before but /v/ hates them like their the devil and for good reason. They tend to fuck anything they get their hands on fairly quickly.

I won't have internet until december though, so no CoD for me until then.

I somewhat retract my prior statements about the game with this note, after trying the PC version im not completely unsatisfied with the game due to the graphics and controls being more like the previous games, the PS3 version however is trash, they better patch this soon, its got PS1 graphics and some weird almost laggy sensitivity issues with the joysticks rendering it completely unsatisfying and not worthy of the battlefield name cause the I am a fan of all the past games

fuck i need to get to sleep

PC version is the only way to go with the game, sadly.  EA did a terrible port to the consoles.
