I doubt this, although I have seen people speculate about having a male present somehow making the females know it isn't necessary to hermaphrodite - I don't think there is anything to it, though, different stresses are responsible for it to happen.

The one thing to worry about when growing one seed is the odds that it is a male plant, though. If its just one seed someone found somewhere, then why not try it out and see what happens, but if you have more seeds than just one, it'd be better to start with a few.

If your plant is really 24 days old as your journal suggests...Then I would definately give that lady some food!  If you can't get something fancy like an organic fertilizer (tend to be expensive) than throw down $4 on some All-Purpose Miracle Grow and dilute it to 1/2 strength or less... Sure it isn't quite organic but it is still food that your plant MUST have in order to see the growth rate you are looking for.

When flowering season comes upon you, switch over to any major brand of BLOOM Fertilizer (I use Schultz Brand Super Bloom) to see a spike in flower production.

Its probably because the roots will grow more in search of water, since the soil is more dry, and more roots means the plant has more ability to support more of itself, so it grows more.

What does it say its NPK formula is? It isn't time-released, is it? Any good information it has on the package would help know, as well.
