 Too much water in bong?

I got this bong that never seems to have the right amount of water in it. I've had it for like a year but everytime I use it when the water level is low it's harsh and when it's too high the smoke is wispy............plus it feels really heavy.
Think this means I'm going back to my standard 12 inch clear glass tube with pull stem. Time to waste $50.

I've found with some bongs there's no right amount of water, but there can be a sweet angle you gotta find if you want the right hit. Like if you had a little less water than you needed in there, and you tilted it back, it would be deeper in than if you smoked it straight.

Yeah it has this bend that pisses me off so it's weird to tilt it. Smoking out of this thing is a real trick shot.

Id fill it to the kind of red line maximum, although it might be too much, I always check out how the bubbles are when you puff in it... lots of tiny bubbles: not enough water, water reach the top of the bowl when you puff with it`: Too much water, gotta find the middle!
