will water with a ph of 8.7 kill my plants?
    #572055 -

I just recently got a ph metre and it's reading my water's ph at 8.7, I don't know if I messed up during calibration or not but if I didn't will it kill my seedlings?

You gotta get it down, you know how I assume. They sell ph up and ph down, also you can use several store bought things like vinegar and shit.

And which pH meter do you have

Ph metre. I dumped the ph buffers into regular tap water, was that bad? It didn't mention if the quality of water was important.

Just corrected the water back to ph 6.5 with a lime, I love the smell it gives the water

i dont think you are supposed to use the ph buffers in plain water i think you have to do it after you purt nutrients.waterquality matters but if you leave tap water out for 48 hours uncovered it will be fine to use and is what i use.
