That article was very windy, unfortunately.
Quote:
Although our individual bodies are destined to self-destruct, the "me'' feeling is just energy operating in the brain. But this energy doesn't go away at death. One of the surest principles of science is that energy never dies; it can neither be created nor destroyed.
They are assuming that the "me" feeling is in fact energy. Granting that assumption even, they go on to make another assumption that the energy of the "me" feeling will retain it's current form once our physical bodies deteriorate.
Hog wash.
Also, you should really read the articles before you post them here and possibly add some input. This is not twitter.

So what is your hypothesis then?

My hypothesis is when you die you die and it is true mass cannot be created or destroyed so a little bit of you will go all throughout the Earth's ecosystem, eventually. That much is provable. Anything else steps into the realm of faith. So in essence, you can go on to live as a miniscule, insignificant part of another organism. But proving that your entire consciousness remains after the body perishes is impossible as far as I know.
