 Glastonbury Festival steward caught dealing drugs

A Glastonbury Festival steward spotted doing drug deals by undercover police claimed he found a cannabis stash on site.
When Harvey Guy Mudford was searched they found several more bags of cannabis along with £40 in cash. Inside his tent was more vegetable matter.
Mudford, 21, of Bournemouth, pleaded guilty to possessing 45.17g of cannabis with intent to supply at South Somerset Magistrates’ Court. He also admitted three charges of supplying cannabis.
Sarah Rhodes, prosecuting, said Mudford was seen approaching groups and money changing hands by police.
When Mudford was questioned he said he had been on site since the Tuesday and was due to work as a steward in the dance tent.
“He said he was in the Stone Circle field and saw some plastic bags under a bush so removed them and found two bags of cannabis,” she said.
“He took them back to his tent and decided to try and sell it, so divided it up and put the small wraps into a bag, put them into the folds of his yellow steward’s poncho and approached people asking if they wanted some weed.”
Defending, Helena Suffield said Mudford made it clear to the police that he was going to keep 30g of the cannabis and only sell 15g of it.
The magistrates ordered that Mudford be sent to Taunton Crown Court for sentence on July 25 and ordered a pre-sentence report be prepared by the probation service.
Until his next appearance he was given unconditional bail.
