Too Much Too Soon?

So, at the moment Tank333 and I have the 1000 W MH and we have 2 clones available to us. Now these clones would come to us freshly cut the moment we went to pick them up. No root system, just dipped in clonex and put into a rockwool cube.
We plan to get a Grow Tent 31.5 " x 34.5x63" Hydroponic Grow Tent w/ Window and a Hydrofarm T5 Commercial 2'/8-Tube system, but can't afford to order that for about 2 more weeks.
Why would we switch from MH to T5 you ask? Simply because our room can't support the energy use and heat that running 2 HID lights would take. We will be using HPS for the 4'x4' flower tent.
We're concerned that the 1000 W MH would be a stress that the cuttinhgs/future mothers can't handle. Plus, we would then be moving them to T5 lighting in 2 weeks.
Is this a legitimate concern or are we worrying for no reason?

While I do not know from experience, I have read that a MH will be too intense for the younglings. I too would stick with florescence at this stage.

IMO* I think the 1k would be fine for seedlings, but the only thing I would be concerned about would be the heat so I would definitely have it a good distance (maybe twice as far as you would usually have it, and as they grow gradually move it closer to desired height) from them if you're gonna use it.
*I have very limited experience with indoor and have never used anything over a 400W

1000w for rooting seedlings?
Go get one of those 14" single T8 Tubes that they sell at the hardware store for $20. Rooting clones don't need 1000w of light

Or if you are willing to drop the money go get one of the nice T5 setups. I have a 4' 8Tube HydroFarm Designer series. Its good because you use half the lights or all of them at once. I usually run it at half when I have clones in the aerocloner still and once they are all out I run them at full.

We plan on getting the T-5's in about two weeks, but we don't want to have to wait until then to get our clones started. At the same time, we don't want to kill our first clones because we stressed them too much before they had roots...
Either way, we might end up having to wait that long anyways, since I think it'll be too hot in there till I get the in-line fan going... I have a crappy canfan that's supposed to be 125 cfm's, but I don't think that'll really be sufficiently powerful.

I've done seedlings and clones under 1200w of HID, works great so long as they aren't too close and you have good air circulation.

I'd stick them off to the side of the room, clones don't need direct light until they grow roots anyway.

We've decided to just wait till we get the T5 setup (which now has been changed to Tue due to shipping issues). We figure it will be easier that way then to find out later that without a fan we will kill our poor little ladies under that much light. Anyways we should be starting out grow journal next week so keep your eyes open.

Seedlings grow quite fine with the sun. Just don't put the HID light so close. Waste of money to run a 1000W MH for just 2 seedlings though. With 1 1000W MH you can have an entire room of plants 5x5 feet. I had an indoor garden that size with all these different plants, even flowered a cactus.
You'd be surprised what you can do with 1 1000W bulb. It's more powerful then you'd think.
