Alright, this may sound like overkill but just go with it. I'm only wanting to grow like 3 plants but i can't get these seeds to germ. I started out with the wet paper towel method, currently still have 5 in there. they've turned black now i think maybe they drowned. so when that failed i put another 5 seeds in pots (soil) and I've got them in my box with a light on them. also have 6 others in little pots in the closet to keep them in a dark space. the strain is F2 troublemaker. are these seeds just hard as fuck to start or is my green thumb failing me? germinating suggestions would be sweet if anyone knows a sure way. Also I've never had problems germinating seeds in the past they usually pop within 2 days or a week at the most. I've had these seeds trying for 2 weeks now.

Wet paper towel has never failed me. Put it in a baggy somewhere with (low) dry heat. I put mine behind my PS3 for example. I used to put it on my computer monitor. I'm sure a TV would work similarly. Not hot, just warm. Should see little tails busting out within 2 days, sometimes overnight.
The last seeds I popped were being stubborn. I think it was because it was so cold. They didn't pop in paper towels so I just put them right into some damp soil and they came up. Even if they don't pop in the paper towels, it softened the shell up for the root to escape...
If all that still doesn't work, I'd check yer seeds out again bro.

I've never had the papertowel method take more than 36-48 hours to see roots. Try taking some sandpaper and lightly scuffing the outer shell so as to let moisture permeate more easily into the seed. Sometimes if the seeds are old the outer membrane becomes very hard and hydrophobic. I've had seeds float when using the cup method for 3 days and then scuffing them got them to sink in just a couple hours.

I usually just drop my seeds into a dixie cup with water in it. never had a problem with em poppin

Do they really germinate under water? I've heard of it, but I thought it was just for softening.

Works like a charm. Just plant them once you see the taproot coming out.

Hey thanks for the replys, i got one to pop finally dropped into a bowl of water. Never tried that way before apparently if you have a stubborn seed drop it in water and it'll pop, for future reference lol.
