The earth is finally depleted of all natural resources, forcing mankind to take action. You along with 120,000 others will be escorted to a large life preserving ark just outside earth's orbit. This ark will travel through space, reaching your new planet in approx 6-8 years.

There, you will live in a secluded but spacious dormitory capable of sustaining life for up to 8 years. You and a random but significantly attractive partner will be confined to a dorm, unable to leave until the Ark has reached it's destination.

Each dorm consists of 2 televisions, (2 years worth of pre-recorded content) 2 laptops each containing 1,000 hrs of movies, 5,000 hours of various music and 12,000 recommended ebooks, including the entire Wikipedia database.

Each dorm houses 2 bathrooms, 1 bedroom, kitchen, living room and a small exercise room. Each assigned bathroom includes a voice activated lockdown feature that bolts shut, keeping the user safe from potential threats to him/herself. If emergency lock down is not voice deactivated within 4 hours, a non lethal gas is released into the cabin, forcing the threat to be confined to their bathroom or sedated for several hours. Lockdown features cannot be activated simultaneously.

All stored food and water contains a drug to keep the consumers mildly aroused, yet sterile for several years. Included is a large steel safe with enough alcohol and air sealed tobacco and marijuana to last the trip, as well as a form of consumption (Bong, Vape, Papers) for each person requiring it.

The Ark includes an intelligent A.I. with an internal Local Area Network designed to monitor vital signs of all passengers. Any modern illness can be detected and treated with Medi-Capsules dispensed from pharmaceutical tubes above the kitchen counter.

The Local Area Network also utilizes social networking/trading. Once every 3 months the internal network is activated to the public for 6 hours. This allows the 120,000 passengers to communicate via IM chat, webcam, transfer/trade files of any type/size and even play games via network (PC/360/PS3 etc). All activity is monitored by the latest antivirus protection available.

Given the circumstances, you are allowed 1 medium-sized back pack to bring up to 5 personal belongings. What would you take with you?

Given the social standards of most anons here, how would you cope with these living conditions with a random stranger? Ignore them and occupy yourself with movies, music and drugs..or interact? Rape?

I would take the following:

• Pistol. Protection after landing against others who could have possibly gone insane during the trip.
  
  
• My laptop/power cable with all my existing tv/movies/music/photos/games
  
  
• My cat, to keep me company and also to have something that I have to take care of, to kinda give me a sense of purpose in a dismal time or something
  
  
• A spare change of clothes (jeans, jumper, underwear, socks and a shirt)
  
  
• My favorite pillow
