england vs italy
these guys put your overweight, over paid, helmet wearing armoured pussies to shame.
no helmets, no body armour no stopages every 20 seconds, just real men and 2 40 minute halfs of non stop action.
i tried to give the superbowl a chance, i really did. but how can you watch a sport where 90% of the duration nothing is happening. whats the longest a passage of play lasts untill everyone sits down to have a drink and more advertisements appear? 15 seconds if your lucky.

It's a lot more of a strategic game than it looks like, if I didn't know the mental aspect of the game I would think it was boring too.
I would never play rugby, I'd get my ass crippled.

im not denying its more of a tactictal sport, and maybe i need to watch a few more games to get a better understanding of the different tactics.
but it would be awesome to watch if there wernt so many stopages and commercials inbetween plays. just takes the excitement out of it imo.

I was a prop when I was younger, then I slimmed out and went over to the wing. Haven't payed in ages but I still love it

The higher up you go (NFL) the worse the commercialization gets, but that's what gets them their millions. This last super bowl was actually the fastest super bowl in history, so I doubt you will get around the slow pace 
I don't know how much of an understanding you have of the game, but it gets more complex with formations, match-ups, plays and all that. I have an appreciation for the sport from playing it, but a lot of people in this country have an obsession with it. Know all the player on every team, watch every game, etc.
What is the big Rugby game of the year called?

The grand final, but there's a series in Aus called State of Origin where players from players from all the teams who grew up in QLD and NSW form one elite side to defend the honor of their home state.
And then there's the tri nations between Aus/Eng and Sth Africa
And the bledisloe cup between Aus and NZ
