EC and TDS are different ways of measuring the same thing, and can be converted back and forth.

I've had great results using the Soil Stick PH meter from spectrum technologies. it retails for about 150, and the probes run, i think, 45, and I replace them about every 4-6 months. Though I have had them last almost a year, before.
And from my experience with other PH meters, seems much more reliable and not in a constant need for calibration, However, I try to make it a habit of calibrating, at least, every two days, as good habit

this is what im planning on using, its an all in one for about$100. its a little more than the stick meters but it allows you to constantly meter rather than having to keep rechecking. ive never used these so if anyone has, id like to know if theyre any good
