Curing question
    #523905 - 02/06/11 11:59 AM (13 years, 1 month ago)

I put my buds into a mason jar for curing, and they were nice and dry, but now they seem to be moist. is that natural for curing? they are like sticking to the bottom of my jar im curing in.

you should open it once a day for like 10 minutes. But curing seems to be better if you leave bud on the branches and stick it in jar.
Also keep it in a average temperature dark place.

Its like alcohol the longer it cures the better it will be.

yes its normal just hasn't been dried yet. and its a good Idea if you didn't leave it on branches to shake the jars every now and then and open the lid for like 5 or 10 minutes.
I kept my colas in a jar for like 3 months while letting them dry for a little every now and then, and they ended up being the shit. Way better than the ones I cured for like a week and then dried by leaving them out for an hour or 2.

Also wait for more replies. THis is just MY experience.

 Yeah Curing is basically just sweating the moisture from the inside of the bud out so it can evaporate...

You just gotta make sure you give it fresh air exchange daily or the moisture won't go anywhere...

people might argue this but it is good to have some moister in the air when drying but have the process happen in a cool dark place so the mold does not colonize, the best way to get the best flavor is to sustain the drying process as long as possible 3 weeks or a month is good even more, but keep an eye for mold in case ,you have to find the best balance between temp and moisture in the room ,if it go,s in the jars to soon it pulls the moisture out to fast and spoils the process~
