i have some algae growing on my perlite...i think its due to using fish chemicals to dechlorinate water. what effects will the algae have on my plants??? is there a fix to it?

are you using a hempy bucket method or is it the perlite on your dirt. what nutrients are you using. i don't think the fish chemicals would cause this. algae is caused by water being lit up by light. try a hydrogen peroxide/water spray across the top o d medium and cover the top of it also to keep the light off. i may be wrong. i know im stoned right now.but i was just dealing with crud in my DWC bucket.

Algae on your perlite is due to a light leak in your container.  I had to tape up all my buckets with reflective tape because I kept having problem with it.
