Its a documentary, mostly in Russian but with subtitles because they're interviewing members of the Russian mafia as well as common criminals and the prison staff, its actually pretty awesome if you have a spare hour and a bit I would say definitely worth a watch.
They get right into the tattoo's, how you earn them, what they mean, and what happens if you have the wrong one

I watched a show about this and other symbolic tattoos (Taboo, maybe?). It was pretty interesting to say the least.
