Cloning a Stolen Plant?
    #487300 - 10/12/10 04:50 PM (13 years, 5 months ago)

My blackjack plant got jacked this year and i noticed that there is a tiny little branch that only has but one small hair and looks like it could veg still if i try to clone it tonight before slugs eat it...

There has already been slugs all over it and you can clearly see it...this is a small green branch on a big jacked stolen dead plant stump

I just bought some rooting gel and im goin for it...what can i lose other than the $10 i already spent on the gel

Yes you can clone that.

Alright im about to try it in a few mins...i don't got any rockwool cubes or anything so im just going to do it in normal soil in a peat pot

How high should the humidity be? Im trying to store it in my grow closet, but will the 45-50% humidity make it harder to root?

You have a old fishtank pump laying around? You'll have a better chance just putting it in a glass of water with a air-stone in it. Change the water every day. Your chances of success will be way higher.

There will be no need for a humidity dome with this method.

I already did it in soil in a small peat pot...the stem didn't want to fit snugly and kept moving around so i added water very gently so the soil caked in a bit and i got it sitting in my closet grow room under 2 cfl's in a glass bowl and i got a plastic bag over the glass bowl sprayed with water to keep humid

I cut the tip of the slug eaten leaf off after the pic was taken

Be careful. Peat pots lose moisture VERY easily.

When I cloned, the only clones I had work 100% were the ones that went from the plant, to the gel, to the soil...so I hope it works for you too!

Maybe the thieves left you that on purpose so you could continue her. Its unfortunate that they stole it...but learn from it and find a better hiding spot I guess. Or, show less of your friends.

Of course it's happening inside your head.
Why should that mean it isn't real?

No...the thieves actually left like half of the bud on there because my dog was barking but they jacked it back when it was premature and basically wasted it for them and me...i honestly think i know who it was and if so he did it just because he hates me and he would've killed any chances of me keeping it

But every single sign of green left on the stump was flowering with white and red hairs and looked un-clonable so i was surprised when i saw this mini-branch that only had but 1 or 2 white hairs and was actually still vegging a bit   I hope it roots

This little mini mini "branch" was begging to get cloned when i saw it. And there probably would've been a couple more like that if i didn't let the slugs eat most if it
