Auto feeder?
    #486669 - 10/10/10 10:12 AM (13 years, 6 months ago)

has anyone had to leave there indoor potted plants for a week and created something to slowly feed there plants premixed nute/water for the course of a week? i was thinkin just to put a gallon jug with a small hole in the bottom, but this seems to easy and it prolly will only drip for a couple days (better than nothing thou...) maybe a timed water pump would be more plausible.. but i have no idea

please though some suggests trusted growers!

Look up 'Wick system", you could probably improvise on that for a week.

I think that the pump on a timer isn't a bad idea at all, as long as you test it out first to work out any kinks.

Another idea would be to create a passive drip system with a 5 gallon bucket, or whatever size you need, and let gravity do the work for you while your gone.  The down side I see to this would be that your plants are getting watered constantly, and I could see them getting over-saturated if you didn't work out the system well in advance of the week you are going to be gone to make sure everything works like it should.
