Alright...I was given a female AK47 clone about 4-5 months ago..Its maturing(budding) and I was wondering if I could clone it?? So I guess basically my question is can you clone a clone?

You should take clones before buding.
If your taking clones in flowering.
We need to here for a TC.

how long has it been budding?
the general rule is 21 days into flowering is still viable for cloning (sortof)
the clones grow very weird for a generation, but some people prefer it
you should clone it, hit them with 24hr light for atleast a week or two
if you like the clones, use them for whatever
if you don't like them way they are growing, you can veg the plant(s) for a few weeks then clone them again
by that point the clones should be back to normal, just make sure you treat them nice, and watch for hermies
dont' quote me on this, as it's second hand info

You could just harvest and leave a few lower small branches then put it in 24/0 light and it will reveg for you.
Then clone to your hearts content.

Cloning a clone is no problem, and I see it best to clone before flowering so the clones don't go through different lighting cycles.
The problem here is that you will have to reveg, and from what I have read for some reason revegged plants tend to put off weaker yields and maybe even potency.
That's only from being read I have never revegged a plant. I don't really understand it, how it would fuck with the genetics of the plant. Maybe it just gets weakened some and can never get back to the state it was in before, and that would be passed from clone to clone if you clone revegged plants.
This is not coming from experience, but just from reading and ending with an assumption.

Ahhhh......reveged plants are just the same as they were before. The thing about revegging is that when done the plants go threw a phase called reverting. When this happens the plant stops all growing for a few weeks then the new growth reverts. The leaf blades reduce in number. Each new leaf will have fewer blades on it then the one before it.
So they go from say 7 to 5 to 3 then back to one then start to go back up again like when it was a seedling. The process is a pain in the ass. When I first got under the lights I set the lights back to 12 hours for a few days to sex the plants then turned them back to 18 and sent a entire crop into reverting.

Yah, I just went through this myself. My LA mom ended up pretty stressed towards the end of her life. I cloned her to keep the genetics alive, but all the clones were so stressed they went through the process mag described. Took about 3 weeks before they started growing normally again. Total PITA and I'm still not 100% happy with the growth yet, but as long as you take care of them you can bring them back up to speed.

For the record, I took a few clones 2 weeks into flowering...after about 2 weeks they put down roots, and it took quite a while before they had new growth, but it did work (under 24 hour lights).
