is anyone else going to donate some money to erowid?

From 6:00 am on September 15 through afternoon on September 16, the Erowid server was down due to technical problems (a drive failed electrically and caused a power spike that disabled our disk controller), and the site was unavailable to the world for over 24 hours. During this time, we were contacted repeatedly by people concerned about Erowid.org being inaccessible.
We apologize for the outage. Over the past 15 years, the site has only been inaccessible a few times. Our unusually dedicated volunteer sysadmins and small crew of 5 paid staff work hard to keep the information Erowid provides available worldwide, 24-7.
The recent outage--one of the longest in our history--made us wonder whether users of the site ever imagine "a world without Erowid"?
As a non-profit organization without governmental funding, generating income for Erowid is a constant struggle. With over 62 thousand unique visitors a day, we could generate 25% of our yearly income in a single day if each user donated only a dollar. Please consider donating via any of the buttons below.
