I just picked up BlazBlue but I get into a serious fighting game kick a couple times a year.
Mortal Kombat II is my all time favorite
but I like most any fighting game especially the obscure ones.

it's Rock Howard from Garou: Mark of the Wolves but he's probably better known from KoF or CvS
maybe you'd prefer Bridget from the Guilty Gear universe...
Bridget is a well educated boy of a wealthy family, secretively brought up as a girl since it was a belief in his village that male twins would bring bad fortune. His parents having a sore heart since they couldn't bring him up as a boy, Bridget tries his best to show them that he is happy in life, but despite the sunny personality he grew from all his efforts, it was obvious that his parents felt more pain the more he looked happy under his current situation. Bridget figures out that the only real solution is to go to the root of the problem, which would be for him to live as a man, and bring enough fortune to the village to disprove the jinx, and decides to go after a bounty he sees in a poster.

UMK3 is my favorite.
MKII is pretty nice though.
I'm getting together with some friends tonight and playin Tekken Tag with a multitap.

have you seen the teaser for Capcom X Tekken?
personally I like Soul Calibur over Tekken
but tekken is awehigh just 'cause it doesn't rely on fire balls and special moves...

i enjoyed fight night round 3 on xbox 360,i thought i was pretty good at it untill i played it online

Wow that's interesting though most of the people I've met over the years that are into fighters. Usually don't have MK as their favorite. I like MK but I could never take it as serious as the other major fighters out there like Soul Calibur, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Street Fighter and so on. The fatalities were always so nice and I got into the storyline for a few of the characters. But the fighting game mechanics always seemed to me to lack a bit of the complexity that the other fighters bring.
What I really would like to do is get an arcade stick for Super Street Fighter Four and Tekken 6. Also Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is coming later this year!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 
I gotta add, you must have played Guilty Gear to have that pic of Miss badass Baiken in your signature.
