 Veg State......

It has been said that a plant can be kept alive in the veg state for 12 years. While the plant is in a veg state, they can't pollinate. I'm trying to sex the plants early and don't feel like taking clones just yet from the plant. I also feel that by the time the clones are done their force flowering the mother plants will be mature enough to show their sex.
Is this correct?

You can sex just about any plant at around 4 weeks look fir the pre-flowers.
Female is on the left.

Ok I know about sexing. My question is, As long as the plants are in the veg state, you don't have to worry about the plants pollinating. Thats what I want to know.

HMMMMM. WHY DID YA WANNA KNOW THAT??? during flowering can and only then will one pollinate. long time mothers(in veg) will show female flowers, on lower branches in my experience.. never tried to pollinate

The reason I asked this is because I have never growen and I hacve 12 plants growing. So far I am not able to tell the sex of the plant. I need time to do this. I was worried that they would during veg state. All 12 plants are doing well and really don't want to lose any of them, but if there is a male in there, good bye.

Correct. Plants can pre-flower however, (show sex with out polinating of flowering) don't mistake pre flowering with flowering.

Switch your light cycle to 12/12 after your plants are past the germinating stage (3-4 weeks old).

Cannabis plants preflower (show their sex) at 5-7 weeks of age.
