Hot vs Cold Bongwater
    #457099 - 08/08/10 11:32 PM (13 years, 8 months ago)

I've always used cold water (at least it starts out that way) but some people I've met swear by hot water. I've even heard that using both hot and cold water filters out different things, but I think its all bullshit personally, water is water is water:shrug:

We all know that cooler water gives a smooth hit, thus ice notches ect, and I've used boiling water aswell and the steam made it smooth as shit, but it wasn't a big enough difference to warrant me boiling the kettle every time I wanna smoke.

Do any of you guys make sure your bong water is a certain temp?

I'm about to try both for the first time, ice water in the ash catcher, and boiling water in the main chamber.

This bowl is for science! Will report back with findings:bongload:

It was smooth, but not a huge amount smoother than when I've usually cleaned my bong and put fresh water in it. I'm gonna stick with the cold water I think.

Actually the temperature of a solvent does affect what is and is not soluble in it.

I once tried frozen marbles with no water. Strong cool flow. Don't choke on a marble though.

this is true...
But yeah IMO using cold water didn't made all that much of a difference. But a percolated bong completely full of ice was one of the smoothest hits I've ever taken.

I use boiling water in my inline perc and then cold water in the bong with ice cubes in the top half of the tube. I like it so far.

I also prefer to use my bong freshly cleaned, then I fill it with extremely cold water, and then the cubes go in,

Ive hit a Doctor pepper bong and the carbonation hurt like a bitch but gave a cool flavour

Im pretty sure the higher temperatures would speed up the process of chemicals breaking down into the water, not sure though

also with hot water there would be steam which might also have some effect

But they don't really break down, just pass through the solvent, and polar and non-polar do not attract so the smoke travels through the water still containing the cannabinoids .. I can't see temperature affecting it substantially, maybe slightly, but I doubt its even noticable

thats why i stick with my pipe, it has this long spirally chamber thing that cools the smoke like a bong with no need for water

we're not talking about the cannabanoids here lol thats what gets you high. The resin is what gives you the harsh hit. I'm not a weed scientist although that sounds like a sick profession, so I dont know how it works or if it works. I just know what I've read.

Yeah really.  Last thing I would do is carry around a bong with me.  Most of my friends have pieces though, so I don't have to bring anything.  My glass stays at home most of the time.  Safety first(for me and the glass  :themoreyouknow:

Yes I would pack it with ice and water and freeze it till I broke up the buds, then pack it up and rip it.

If you didn't notice on the bong, the top parts are detachable and filled with a freezable liquid. So you take off the top parts, freeze em and ya get nice cold, smooth smoke. The pipes have a strange liquid in them that keeps cool and can also be put in the frozen but only for a couple min. That way you can always get ice cold hits.

They are pretty nifty. I like the bongs the most. I've seen one before with a fully detachable chamber that had liquid in the lining so you could freeze it.

Those bongs look sweeeeet as.

I'm thinking of trying out the crushed ice in main chamber with room temp water in second chamber with Inbred, now to find some ice and crush it.

Dude, snow in bongs is sooooo tight. I've done it a few times. It hits so weird but so smooth. DEF worth a try my friends.

so you guys know how some people smoke out of the ground right?
like when it snows enough make the proper holes in the snow on the ground, then put the actual bowl peace on the ground(since it owuld be too wet to light on the snow) ans smoke it.

See, that term pedo gets thrown around a lot.
Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.
