possible pH buffer in your nutrient solution making it harder to drop the levels?
Maybe drop the pH of your res some before you add the nutes?

I had a similar prob, I got a new ph down and went back to normal dosages. My guess is that it went bad over time or got contaminated, I could be wrong.
