I've yet to try hunting but I would leap on any opportunity to go.

I'd kill a deer and eat it but I couldn't gut it warm.... that would give me a little dry heaves. That's why I'd go with an experienced hunter like an old Indian, he could gut it wave some feathers around, then howl some ancient prayer while I stand there like WOOOOO.

Makes me feel gross, nothing against it besides that. I love meat and would gut animals daily if it was the only way to have meat. Something about removing the bones that just sicks me out.

See that sucks too, which means right after you shoot the poor deer you have to gut it right then. I just don't want to do that for a hobby, for survival sure but dang.

yeah, ive always liked the idea of living in a tribe with hunters and gatherers and have spiritual gatherings. damn thatd be the life.
sittin around a fire smoking some outdoor homegrown out of a pipe, and dancin around chanting.

Well as I said before I've never gone hunting but would love to go. Whatever I killed I'd gut and eat later. I've done worse as a bio major.
I guess I feel it'd be more natural that way. You know, just better than the idea of eating the meat off a calf that died 2 weeks ago that your restaurant just reheated for you.
Also it's sooo good. My friend hunts and I eat his venison with him, om nom nom, so good.

i love the natural idea of it. i myself just cant help it i cant gut it.
i want to hunt some buffalo or something with spears.

You get used to the gutting part, my kids go with me and they are doing their own gutting this year, I have shown them the last 2 years so now they know how and have to do it themselves. Whats is so nice about doing it up here, is that it is cold enough you will not smell anything really. I have killed and gutted many different animals, cows, pigs, small game like rabbits and squirrels, and if you fish you have to gut them as well.

Yeah the farther north you go, the better hunting gets IMO. The meat freezes before you even get it home sometimes.

makes it easier to skin that way. you shot the deer then you gut it, then you hang it in a place nothing can get to it(scavengers and such) for about 2 or 3 days this also takes some of the game taste away(just like they do in the slaughter house with your pork and beef) then you skin it and cut it up into steaks and such what ever kind of cuts you want, or a lot of people take it to a butcher shop and let them do it. I prefer doing it myself so I know it is my deer and what I get.
