Ouch, that was pretty brutal. You can't hate on the kid for making constructive/positive moves for himself. A $10.50 an hr job for his court case sake is better than no job. Fuck going to jail man no one needs to be known for that.
But to be completely honest, for someone your age (22-23 I assume?), and with a college degree no less? You should definitely deserve a higher paying position than that.
When I first got my current job I landed it with a decent amount of relevant experience to the job and attended a vocational H.S where I learned a trade but the funny thing I didn't even graduate and got a GED. They didn't even notice or ask cause only my resume I just list 2002-2006 and my HS and obviously you'd assume you graduated.
Long story though why I had to drop out... 15 day suspension 50 something owed hours you'd have to make up as many days as possible after school, and on top of that they weren't going to let me walk graduation and make me taking ANOTHER summer class for a cool $600 (completely useless bullshit course had to take one for summer school 1 year when I exceeded absence limit and owed hours). So like late February that year I just told them to take a flying fuck, dropped out, raped the GEM exam like a month or two later, went to a community college for a bit then got the rest of my credits through online courses.
My point is though, although I make a decent amount with a pretty chill company I feel I should be able to land a higher paying job than 13.20/hr at 22 with decent experience and an associates degree in communications with a vocational HS background. Are u honestly about to live on $10.50 or are u living at home fortunate enough to not have too many expenses. I simply could not, I feel like 13.20 is not enough TBH.

Good luck finding a job at all, let alone a job that has anything to do with whatever career you want or one that pays well.
Bonus points if you can find a job in your hopeful career that also pays well.
I'd kill for a 10.50 job right now.

I want to write books that can blow the minds of the squarest ignorant fucks based on my pscyhedelic journies and the pearls of wisdom I have managed to salvaged from my clouded and distant memories of these experiences, truly unable to ever recall them in their full beauty and awesomeness in a normal state of mind.
I would also like to maybe get involved in music one day maybe on producing end find the next great psychedelic juggernaut rock n roll band and help get music back on track to where it should be and should have never left from.
I fucking dig art, of so many forms. Oh the beauty of the independent creations of artistic interpretations in their own image as it goes out to the world and inspires millions casting their own view and interpretation and thus spreading their inspiration and incorporating it in to their own artistic en devours and future interpretations and understanding of all the great arts.

No shit, especially since I am only about 1/2 way to having a degree. So basically an entry-level position. I was out of work for 7-8 months prior to landing this
