nothing too fancy, i had to move. and in doing so aquired another light, and an air conditioner.
here's the veg chamber
it has a 400w HPS bulb and hood, and six(supposed to be 8) 100w cfl bulbs. all are adjustable height.
 
here's the flowering chamber
it has a 1000w EYE super blue Horti-lux bulb. it has a 600wHPS and 400wMH in one bulb... or its the other way around, i'm not sure. i know its running on a 1000w HPS ballast.

Just curious, why did you spend all that money on 100w cfls and accessories when you could have just got another 400w hps or MH?

you can distribute the light more evenly with a bunch of cfl's over just 1 MH or HPS
thats my guess why he did it

While that is true, a 400hps will penetrate alot deeper than the CFLs. In my opinion, the 400hps will do a better job than surrounding it with cfls.

It will I was just referring to positioning of the lamps around the plant if you wanted to do it. I forgot that he did this with the hood. So yea youre all right so stfu

heh i did it because it was 1/4th the price of 1 400w hps or mh with ballast and hood. and for heat issues. they produce 1/4th the heat for the amount of lumens they put out... or something like that.

CFL's produce more heat per watt..Which as you know when light is converted to heat instead of light, its wasted.
And it would have been cheaper to build a 400 watt, but it doesn't matter because I'm gay.

Look at the pics guys they are not actually 100watt bulbs they are 23 watt bulbs or 100 watt incandescent equiv. They cost 99 cents at home depot here.

That is a good deal. They are sometimes like $5 but often a city/county/state will subsidize them so that people will save electricity. But you should edit your posts, those bulbs are not actually 100 watts they are probably 23 watts and are meant to replace a 100 watt incandescent.

they're just as bright as a 100w incandescant. just leave me alone in my delusions of cfl wattage. they do me good either way.
