to trim or not to trim...
    #424008 - 05/26/10 10:47 AM (13 years, 10 months ago)

now this is my first grow haven't gotten into full flower yet cous of males but i got a question about trimming... now i read every where not to trim cous even if the leaf is dieing it still will produce food for the plant untill it falls off... also stunts growth is said.. but a plant needs to be trimmed when its too full of growth right.. thats the age old question... now my question( im using lst on my plants due to space plus i like the idea of more tops i.e. budsites.. now the lower leaves are damaged but still green and wilting and becoming brittle kinda.. now i dont want to trim them cous thay are not hurting the plant but in a way it makes me think the deadish leaves are leaching off the plant.. now i will get a pic tonight and will make my wife drive over her dads to get the pick off cous the camera is broken and he has a sd card reader but anyway...)

soo im asking opions here if any 1 has experience with lst and is going through or has gawn through this delema..

If the leaf is wilting and hurting then the plant is putting energy into repairing it rather than putting energy into producing new growth. Animals chomp leaves off plants every single day in nature, it's nothing new to them.  If a pl[ant just stopped growing everytime a deer took a bite out of it that plant would go extinct so fast we wouldn't even know it exists

this is true i kno.. but the reasurch says diffrent tho.. even tho the things i found is only growers opinions.. i kno if i had a pic it would explain more... i would like to get a pic up before i do anything so i can get a second opinion.. but yea that is completely true.. and its not like i will be able to flower anytime soon now due to new neighbors upstaris untill i build my box..

hay harry do u have exp with lst???/
cous its only the leaves that are on the underside that are suffering..
thoes are the 1's i wana clip.. thay get barley any light cous of the canopy..

Yes I've LST'd before.

If they're wilting and ugly and dying then get rid of them, simple as that
