What do you do when you are done?
    #400298 - 04/12/10 07:56 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

I get the impression marijuana is a one and done scenario after flowering?
Because I hear that it is an annual plant and some other things I have heard make it sound like it blooms and then comes back next year in nature plus I've never heard of a tree/bush older than one grow.
So what I'm actually asking is basically you get your bud from the plant and destroy it and start over?
I would have searched for this answer but I had no idea what to even search under.

Obviously new to growing.

Yes, that is exactly what happens. Don't listen to anyone talking about "revegging" and all that garbage. Seems to me like a BIG waste of precious time and light.

Weed IS an annual. :yesnod:

Re-vegging is not garbage. He may find it useful at some point, don't tell him to disregard it as a waste. Re-vegging is bringing a flowering plant back to its vegetative state, usually to preserve the plants genetics.

Some people keep mother plants alive for the span of many grows to provide clones for flowering.

I don't mean to knock something that I've never done myself. But.

When I harvest a plant, all I'm left with is a main stem and some dirt. Seems like it would take a year or more to get a bud off it of there are no leaves left. This just seems like a complete waste of space, light, nutrients, etc.; when I can start a NEW plant and get bud in 4 months.

Yeah I added a little explanation to my post, don't want to confuse the new growers even further :smirk:

well for revegging you leave some small buds and leaves at the bottom so that it's not cut completely back....

Yeah I understand the cloning parts but wasn't sure why no one actually said anything about reintroducing your plant to veg after harvest or whatever it would go back to. Thanks guy.

I see what you're saying now. Mother plants are different though. A true mother plant, should have never been flowered in the first place.

I've seen people keep mothers for many years. They were never meant to be flowered though.

I'm just saying its possible, and in a pinch, say something happens to your mother plants, a flowering plant can be taken and put back into veg to produce more clones.

I'll try re-vegging when I upgrade to 1000W. Just for an experiment on the edge of my main grow.

Doesn't seem practical though. I'll cut it about half back like Harry said and give it a try. Give me a few months.

How long has it been since you ordered? I'm so sketched out about ordering seeds. I don't know why. Guess it's just me. I've ordered everything else but. Just wish I had a source.

Looks like I'm gonna have to make the leap before this next round is done. I'm sick of working with my own (inferior) seed.

I ordered on march 24 and the USPS tracking says it has been sitting in new york since the 27th. Making me really pissed off. I got so impatient I just laid out 20 petris because I figure I might as well get some pan cyan and cambo grows started while I wait for this shit.

abrv. for Amsterdam. It seems strange that your seeds are still in NY 2 weeks later.

I emailed attitude on sunday but havn't got a response yet.
They say on the website it can get stuck there for a long time and so do other people when I googled it.

edit: got an email saying
"It is taking on average 2 weeks from NY to arrive at the moment so I am sure that this will be with you soon."
