Revegging question.

Ok, I chopped one of my plants today and noticed that the stem inside is a hallow gaping hole.

I'm glad I realized this before I initiated my reveg on the 1 plant I want to save.

Would somehow pinching the stem then chopping it be ideal so no air gets into the stem.

Does any of this even make sence to you guys. It's kind of hard to explain..
