My New Purchase

It's a Taurus Pt145 Pro, 3rd Generation. 10+1 capacity .45 rounds. Kick isn't too bad for a compact handgun. It's compact, but it's not too small. I like it. Shot it at the range today, all shots were in a 4-5 inch grouping at about 10-15 yards. First time I ever shot a .45, not too bad. I've got 10 free range visits, I'll definitely be going back soon.
Sorry the pic sucks so bad, cell phone, what can I say?

Very nice!
I've been playing around with a glock .45 but it's not very official or nothing.
Guns are awesome.

I really want a glock myself, I think their quality is 2nd to none, however, I do think they are just a bit overpriced. Taurus has had some problems in the past, but they produce quality handguns now that they purchased the Beretta factory or something like that. The past 10 years or so they've been producing quality firearms. I mean some cops carry them dude, if they're good enough for cops, I'll take it. Plus I got a lifetime warranty no questions asked. Bought some hollow points too

Yeah I got it for only 9 dollars over the MSRP too. The place was having a sale so it all worked out perfect.

Yea glocks are expensive. The one I have dealt with came about in less than legal ways I do believe.
But yea once I get some money together I want to get a handgun and get a concealed carry lisence.

Yeah I was tryin to avoid all that. I wanted something new so I didn't have to worry about where it came from and how many bodies it had on it. I shot a Glock 19 before and those are really good guns, but so far so good with this. I'll keep it clean and only put good ammo through it and see how it holds up. It's my first handgun, but I've shot them before as well as shotguns and rifles. No rocket launchers yet, the place didn't have one

dude i am sooooooo jealous.
A mossberg shotty is next in line for me...then a hand gun.
Shooting is so therapeutic. Other than the gym, it's prob one of the only things that alleviates stress for me.
nothing like un-loadin a few rounds...

That's a nice gun man. It looks almost identical to the one my bro has (Taurus too).
His looks just a little bit longer than that one, like the regular 9mm size. Yours looks just a little smaller, but I bet it is a nice gun.
My brother is weird, he thinks chaos is going to break loose soon so he has guns and a massive stock of ammo in case any shit goes down...
He has all kinds of illegal rounds, I wish I could go shooting w/ him sometime. I might just get a little .22 handgun juuuuuust in case.

Yeah there's some decent prices on some Mossbergs around here too. I almost bought one today, but no need for something that big. I've already got a shotgun. Just an old 410 but it does what I need it too. Probably be getting one some time in the next year or so though. Good prices on benelli's too.
And you're 100% right about it relieving stress.

This will be my first firearms purchase. I'm ordering it most likely within the week, might even do a trip upstate to buy it. I enjoy doing target practicing and such. Also on my island, in the winter its so dead that we all get together at a friends house on the bay and shoot clay pigeons and such. Might get a really nice optic scope for it.

Well I'm not saying I don't believe it either, but most people consider him weird for doing such. If I didn't lose all my money and career to chasing the dragon then I would probably be strapped as well. I'm trying to make a comeback but it's just not going anywhere yet...

Yeah I was actually gonna get the 9mm, but they had a sale going on and for the same price I could get a .45. I went with the .45 needless to say
It's technically a compact handgun, but it's not as small as other ones I've seen. I really like the size of it. I held a Glock .357 sig today and I almost bought that, but the grip was just a TINY bit too small so I went and grabbed this and it was perfect. I told the salesman to go help other people while I thought about what I wanted to do. It was between like 3 guns and this is the one I went with. Like I said, lifetime warranty, 2 mags, case, a mag loader. Keep it clean and run good ammo through it, I think I'll be fine.

Guns are a necessary evil. I've never fired a firearm of any kind outside of a bb gun. but I will get one and will get trained with it once i have a house, wife, kids to protect. Right now im only responsible for myself so i can get by with a bat for protection. im not a worrier or a warrior for that matter.
edit: second page recognition fail. nice gun FBD!

Because I can't grow where I'm at and that probably won't change any time soon. I know it sounds lazy blah blah, but there are very unique circumstances to my situation right now and they won't change for a while, god willing.

Yeah, it definitely does look good. Those fuckers are very expensive too. I looked at pretty much everything when I went in the gun shop man. You wouldn't believe some of the ugly ass shit they sell in there for like 600-700 bucks. I mean performance is definitely more important, but why the fuck do companies make guns that ugly?

Happy Birthday Tripp. I've seen it, don't really know much about it though. My .45 isn't loud, but then again, I had eyes and ears on so I couldn't really tell anyway. I know there was a guy shooting a .44 magnum in there and that shit was LOUD even with ears on.

Yeah the place I bought the gun is like 3 stories tall. Buy your shit on the 1st floor, get your ammo on the 2nd floor, and there's a shooting range on the 3rd floor. In order to shoot at the range you either have to have your own eyes and ears or rent them from there for like 2 bucks or something. I might just get my own eventually so if friends I have out in the country aren't around to let me shoot at their house, I can go to the range and pay the minimum.

Yeah I'm right on the edge of middle of nowhere and the city. I wouldn't quite call it the suburbs because the city is like 2 miles from me and the country is like 4 miles from me I've got a friend out in the COUNTRY though and he shoots so I'll probably get up with him soon. I've got 10 free range visits so that's cool too.

Taurus makes good handguns for the most part, looks like u got a good deal. The gun shows in my area are ridiculous, all private buyers selling used glocks for like $400+ and new >$500. I was looking at getting a Taurus, Hi-Point FA, or similar .45 auto.
I settled with a 22lr assualt style just for kicks, i dont really need a handgun at this point. was pretty cheap, about 500 b4 tax, here she is, made by S&W http://www.tropicalfirearms.com/images/811030_large.jpg

I've heard good things about Hi Point dude. Never shot one or anything, just on forums and stuff.
That rifle is badass man. I saw a few rifles like that in the shop, they aren't really outrageously priced either. This place isn't bad at all on prices.

Yeah my stepdad bought 2 hi-point .45s and they are slick, came with 2 lasers and an extra mag for each i think for all around 200 ijm thinking but i could be wrong. Yeah i got a good deal on that one, it was the only one in the shop that was under like 1k so it was the only one i could buy. the gunshops in my area aren't bad either, just the gun shows =/.

Yeah most gun shows are bad from what I hear. I've never bought anything from one.
