I Just came across your diy carbon filtered drying chamber that you posted back in '08.
http://www.growery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/126642#126642
That is exactly what I need for next fall. Great diy man. +5
Could you detect any smell...even a minute amount? Just curious

If you seal up your cabinet tight enough and use the right charcoal with a GOOD fan then you should be fine.

Wow that's funny, I just linked Triptonic to this thread!
It is a great DIY project, and If I build a carbon scrubber that's the one I will build.
If you are looking for DIY projects, there is a "Link-O-Rama" on ICmag with links to pretty much anything you need to build yourself. I think the threads are all separate but the links are all posted in one thread, as well as a couple members signatures.
Buuuuuuuut thanks for bringing it back up, if this place keeps growing, I can easily see a DIY forum for us penny pinching geeks who would rather spend a week building something rather than spending $50, $100, $300, etc... I feel better using a product knowing I created it, rather than a factory where quality control does not always meet MY standards...

I'm actively trying to find a place to buy carbon in bulk.
I mean, once you have a filter its as simple as refilling it every 8 months to a year.
Here's a quick place that I found that sells bulk. http://www.water.siemens.com/en/products/activated_carbon/granular_activated_carbon_gac/Pages/westates_midas_carbon_product.aspx
Don't wanna hijack the thread but anyone know a cheap place to get carbon designed for gaseous odor control?

I'm talking bulk. A normal carbon filter has 10+ pounds. At a pet shop its gunna be a fortune.
Plus I have 30 fish tanks going so I'll go broke.
Honestly, I don't even goto fish stores to get fish. I hit up club shows and auctions. That's why I have so many =(
Fish store are rip off places. Everything is crazy marked up is the point.
