Growery Gathering at a music festival?
    #345705 -

I was thinking some of us might want to all meet up at some Concert. I would figure This summer would be perfect. Preferably a smoker friendly venue though. Just got this idea really, and I'm a little high. But I'm already planning on going to at least one concert this summer, but don't really know what to go to though.

I vote Mayhem Fest, but we can wait until we have a list of 6 or so event before we tried to decide what and where. I just want to find out if anyone shares interest.

--Edit--

I am adding a list of everything that gets proposed.

1. Rockstar Mayhem Fest
Winds Of Plague
Shadows Fall
Chimaira
Hatebreed
3 Inches Of Blood
In This Moment
Norma Jean
Atreyu
Five Finger Death Punch
Lamb Of God
Korn
Rob Zombie

2. Reggae on the River

3. Ozzfest

4. Bonnaroo

5. ROTHBURY!!

6.

7.

I am saying 3 more choices. After that we will just have to wait until Announcement.

I am definitely already going to Ozzfest and Mayhem.

I'm in the great plains. But we can worry about where we are going to go until then.

Lets each suggest one gig. if someone picks what your favorite would be give your second favorite. I just want a good list, and get a list of what bands will be there.

I am suggest Mayhem Fest, Bands get announced the 20th of this month.

We are aiming for a date in like the mid to late summer. And honestly I can do as late as early August. I kinda want a metal event cuz I like metal. But I'm open minded, just no rap.

I will Edit the top post to keep track of proposed events, Cities, and bands. Link in your suggestion the website of the event.

No artist line ups yet though.

I will try to remember to post the artists as soon as I am notified who they will be for everything.

Depends when you buy your ticket but mine and my girls last year were like $230. It's still a good time but it gets less and less fun every year. Rothbury has had a much greater line-up the last 2 years as well so that's where I'll be heading this year..

I would have given a testicle to go to rothbury 2009.  seriously.  Coachella is a good one in the SW for those folks.  Mile High Music Fest was fun last year too (although I was only there for 3 hours!).

I just realized that HILL COUNTRY REVUE played at roth 2k9.  I just got into those guys a lot.  They play some great fucking music.  and look how far down on the list they were.   Bonnarroo would have been cool a few years ago, up until Kanye played and everyone hated it.  i still dont understand that choice of an act.  fuck kanye.  all in all, i saw, wait for the acts to be announced.  Roth has a really large Shroomery gathering too, so there'll probably be some spill over in that case.

you can count me out of the heavy metal type music festivals.  I went to the family values tour in phoenix a couple years ago.  I got to witness a huge biker dude toss a gallon jug of water as hard as he could into the center of the crowd down below.  I wihs i would have had a gun.  Anyway, I was not too keen on the type of people their.  not my crowd anyway.

For 2010, we have had to make the tough decision to postpone our efforts.  A contributing factor in our decision is that, due to various artists’ recording and touring schedules, we now believe that timing will not allow for us to assemble the cutting edge roster that everyone has come to expect from ROTHBURY.

Sometimes stereotypes are right on the money.  I guess I should only say that a LOT of the behavior i saw at FVT wouldn't be tolerated many other places.  Yeah, it's a lot of fun to get not one, but three cups of beer tossed all over you from an unknown direction.  You HAVE to be a fucking savage to do that man.  I have no respect for that kind of behavior.  I never see that shit going on at a music and arts festival.  Im sure it happens, but def. not like what i witnessed.  I think the line up was atreyu, some other band, evanescence and then korn played.  The music was great, i just didn't have the best time with the people I initially surrounded myself with.

yeah, im sure that's true for some people.  im not one of them tho.  i am softcore at my hardest.   well that's not entirely true after a half dozen tool shows being in the first few rows.  but to get this back on top I'll restate my vote and put it toward a music and arts festival vs. a music tour.  Bonnarroo might be the best one to get the biggest turn out.  seeing as it's kind of in the middle of the eastern states.

If it happens to be here I can get ya'll into the venue for free (for a small fee). Trades? This is my stomping grounds. I OWN the Tower (in a sense).

Quote:
String Cheese Incident guitarist Billy Nershi mentioned in an interview that the String Cheese Incident is trying to put together a festival at Rothbury for summer 2011. No definite dates have been announced.

“We’re also planning on doing something next summer at the Rothbury site. That will be a weekend festival with a lot of String Cheese sets. It’ll be different from Rothbury in that it will be more like our thing at Horning’s, where String Cheese plays every night, and it will include bands in our String Cheese family with art installations and that kind of thing.”

It has been confirmed that Madison House Presents, the company in charge of promoting the previous two ROTHBURY music festivals at the Double JJ Resort in Grant Township, took out a mass gathering permit application from Grant Township officials. Grant Supervisor Roger Schmidt said festival Director Jeremy Stein took out the application after visiting with officials Jan. 12. “We’re expecting to hear back from them within a month,” Schmidt said.[14]
