There's a technical name for the base of the cannabis stalk im sure. i was flipping through a HT mag and saw this add. Basically you send this dude a money order and the bottom part of your stalk after harvest and he carves it into a usable pipe. Pretty neat. I was thinking about trying it out.

not sure maybe a very long thin drill bit from each end for a guide hole then redrill the size hole you want

when i did it, it was with a straight section and i made it into a basic chillum. made a couple, they worked ok but not something you would use other than for the novelty factor. too bad that guy's site is down, i wonder what he did to keep it from burning.
