I didn't put aeroponic because I can't afford one

You may choose only one

For me it's a tie between DWC and Ebb and Flow.  Both great ways to grow.

I say it's proportionate to the size of your grow area.  DWC would work better in a tighter space then an Ebb and Flow would.  If you're interested in DWC you may want to check out how to grow in perlite or coir.  Very simple and requires no moving parts

Why is it that you feel DWC is better in tight spaces than ebb and flow??  The reservoir??

Damn, people really like the flood & drain method. Why do you guys prefer not having your roots submerged 24/7?

numerous reasons, DWC is more susceptible to algae and other pathogens if you can't maintain reservoir temps or light penetration. Also, if your airstone isn't large enough you can straight up suffocate your plant from the bottom up.

What temp do you want your reservoir?

medium  like natural water temperatures

if it's super cold it shocks the root systems, but if it's too warm bacteria and algae thrive and consume your nutrients. worse than that, they can drastically alter the pH

60 degrees is ideal, but you can get warmer if you want.  While temp does alter pH in water, it takes a large swing one way or the other, 32 degrees for .5 swing in pH.

I ran a DWC system for 3 years and loved it.  I never had problems with algae growth or bacteria.  But then again I kept the reservoir, which was very large, covered.  Also it had constant recirculation and mold and algae have a harder time establishing in running water.

Why would you say DWC is more susceptible than an ebb and flow.  It seems like either system could be at risk.

well most DWC systems don't involve recirculation. most of them are just a giant rubbermaid tub with an airstone in it, which definitely is a happy-land for microbiota.

Also, I wasn't saying temps cause large pH variations, but rather high temps encourage algal growth, which in turn changes the pH

Ah, that can def. happen.  A well made DWC is the shit.  A nice large reservoir and recirculation are amazing for DWC buckets.

When you just do a single bucket or large rubbermaid system you get big pH swings.  It also makes it a lot harder to keep your ppm levels where you want it.  One day your plant will be drinking a lot of water and your ppm goes way up, the next it's eating nutes but not much water.

When you throw a nice big res. for the to feed off of it takes care of all that bullshit.

So then I take back what I said earlier.  If your just doing a single bucket/rubbermaid system then I would vote for ebb and flow.  But if you do a DWC system properly, it's very hard to beat.
