When it comes to trimming, how much of the trichome covered leafs do you leave on? Do you just cut it off and use it for hash?

I'm not too surprised to see this thread from you Harry. I seem to recall looking at some of your recent harvest pictures and noting that some of them looked like a real bitch to trim.

Patience!
It usually takes me about 8 hours to trim 4oz.
With that said I also trim off EVERY leaf possible... It really makes a big difference in bag appeal and how smooth the smoke is when cured.
Less leaves = Smoother smoke
I usually cut any fan that has a leaf stem long enough for me to get the scissor tips into the buds to snip them off out of view from the outside of the nugget. If that made any sense. I cut them off below flush with the surface so there is less stem material in the finished product. It all goes to hash anyway right!? Personally I like my buds to be leaf free.

Unfortunately that's how many of the plant's I have grown have come out. The bud will be great, you just won't get the yields you thought. It happens all the time. Not that many strains have really high Calyx to Leaf ratios. Check this bagseed, it's got the same issue.
I ended up keeping a sack of just the sugar trim and smoking it while the nugs cured. It got me stoned as fuck, just a liiiitle harsh.

Supplies you need to get decent hash, without bubble bags.
1. Mixing bowl (bigger the better)
2. panty hose (get a couple packs there pretty cheap)
3. Mirror
4. dried trim
5. razor blade
6. sullofane from cigarette pack
Now what we do here is put your shake preferably right out of the freezer, pack as much in the mixing bowl as possible(leave enough room for shake to shake) , now we slip the panty hose over the mixing bowl. Now we turn the bowl upside down and shake repeatedly over you mirror for 2-3 minutes per full mixing bowl. Now that we have done this you take your razor blade and scrape the resin glands from the mirror, and put this matter in your sullofane, now just repeat until you are satisfied with the amount you have, now all thats left to do is press it with your fingers. The heat alone from your fingers should be enough to work it together. Now I am not saying this is going to make some bomb hash or anything but this shit will put you out on yor ass. This is what I usually do with my leftover trim, So if you dont like this method try a different one this is just one that I can use and get pretty good quality hash with for cheap.

Pantyhose works in a pinch, you just have to be careful using it. It tends to rip pretty easily if you're not paying attention or you stretch it too taut.

I wonder if you could use it in a similar method to bubble bags where you grind up the weed with ice water and then filter the water through the panty hose...
