From one addict to another...........
I don't know where to start! When i finally got past the sickness i so wanted to help others desperately. But all my experience and "help" falls upon deaf ears. So i came to realize that people really do have to hate the life they are living and want to change. And i see in you that you are almost there. I will also say that using one form of opiate to cover the withdrawal of another is no good either. You pretty much have to come to the conclusion that your gonna have to get sick to get better! I did the whole methadone treatment and it seems like your really doing good because you go from some high dose of opiate to what seems like a really really small dose. Reality is that it is still an opiate and u just replaced one with another. I find this to be the case with all "the systems" opiate treatments.
You are gonna face some tough desicions and you have to be prepared to deal with them, with out drugs. MHbound has a piont with NA. As much as i am against most programs, i think some people can benefit from the support of others in the same situations.
As far as some of the negative feed back going down in here, you have to remember that some of this negativity is coming from addicts themselves. These people are gonna down you just to make you fail just so they can feel like they are not alone in the fact that opiates are really hard to beat. But it can be done!
You and your girl need to be each others support. Like in any relationship when one partner is having troubles the other needs to be strong. Sometimes you will both go into self destruct mode and that is where it would be good to have outside support, NA or friends, and family. I can give you my number if you like and both you guys can call when in need of outside help. Maybe Trip, 81, and a few others can do the same. You need outside support.
Bottom line is that life is gonna be challenging! Dependence is gonna be hard to kick. The whole time i went through the sickness i had thoughts of just taking one pill and the pain and agony would go away. People are gonna say and do things that your not gonna like but that is life brother. The challenge is being able to not go hide behind the drugs and just face it. I know your a man who liked challenges and still does. You used to be a boarder, thats challenge brah! Once you do finally achieve your goal of sobriety, the real challenge begins! Being able to say no to opiates of any sort is ridiculously hard! And every day you wake up, you could possibly face that challenge.
Anyways brah, i am hear for you and your partner! I would like to see you succeed in this. And even though some of us seem a bit harsh in our support, would like to see you succeed too! I am serious about giving you my cell number and hope the rest i mentioned would consider it too. Support is gonna be key in his success!

I would also like to add that I had someone tell me something that got me through my addictions...(Mine were cocaine and benzos so I know the physical and mental aspects of addiction) Anyway, he said do this for me...Quit using everything for a year...Don't do a goddamn thing and if you want after that year to go back to it I'll buy your first shot(I'll make the same deal with you, I'll buy your first bag of heroin) because its not going anywhere...
I didn't want to do it but I decided hell I'll try it and I'll be damn if after a year I had basically done a complete 180 with everything. After 2 years the mental aspect of it was gone.
Of course some of this is attributed to the fact that I rammed my truck in to a light pole and killed myself...You don't want to get to that point.
That one night of fun, that one wreck has ruined my life. I have no spleen so I fight with being sick all the time, I have neck n back pain, I've had knee surgery from it, I lost 4 of my teeth, I had a trach in my throat so I have trouble swallowing etc, my chest hurts all the time...I'm in and out of the hospital and doctors office because of it...The list goes on.
You don't want to end up that way its no fun.

Lucid, if your a friend like your supposed to be and an ex addict you would know how fucked up life can get! We make poor decisions! But i know if most my friends would have had patients with me while going through the bullshit, i would have made right with them. Matter of fact, i did make right with one of them, the others dis owned me as a friend and will not speak to me. Don't do that to him brah, he is going through tough times. He will make right with you, just be patient...Please??

It really wasn't a big deal, I was buying more Suboxone because I was nearly out and another fucking shady junkie/coke dealer/china dealer took my 30 bucks, said he'd be back to his place soon, never called.
I had no reason not to trust him at this point but now I know I cannot.
Lesson learned.
Now I have to do MORE work for my parents to pay Lucid and I'm not getting shit out of this. Except ganja w/ lucid. Thank god.

I just thought of something!!
Addiction specialist/Pain Management. My last doctor was an addiction specialist. Dr. Kuntz from Kona Hawaii. He was very helpful and understanding and also an ex addict from the Vietnam war era. He did understand what i was going through 100% and did what he could to curb the anxiety and withdrawal, prescriptions to methadone and suboxone when available. Suboxone or Buprenorphine was fairly new when i went through it so therapy was still at a limited basis. He also dealt with pain management patients.
He explained to me the fact that i may be an addict the rest of my life! That i may need "treatment" long term. Meaning to keep away withdrawal, i would need a course of methadone or any of the new treatments like suboxone. So that is a real possibility to bro. Whatever it takes to beat the street drugs! Methadone was the cheaper treatment/drug so it worked for me since i paid cash. If i hhad insurance, Buprenorphine would have been the prescribed treatment.

Weed was my savior guys!
Weed allowed me to sleep and controlled some of the anxieties. It also helped with controlling the nausea that comes with withdrawal. Weed is a good thing!!!
Opiates and weed are 2 different drugs! They work different in the brain and should not be compared! Opiates your brain requires or it makes u deathly sick! Weed, well you may want it but itdon't make you sick like opiate withdrawal!
However, i think if a guy wants total abstinence from opiates then that must be the goal. The treatments out there are quite long term to life long. So like i said in a previous post, if a person wants to get better, they need to come to the conclusion that getting deathly sick is a must to get better! From experience, you have to go through the worst hangover in your life to get past it. Then comes the challenge of continued sobriety!
But Weed, herb, cannabis or marijuana is a positive thing for an addict, IMO of course. It helped me and i swear by the cannabis plant!

I don't agree...Weed is a drug...Nicotine is a drug...Caffeine is a drug...Alcohol is a drug...
Bottom line for someone addicted to a substance until you get your addiction under control you shouldn't use(And for some, never use again)...I didn't use anything but cigs for over a year and if I would have continued drinking or smoking weed I wouldn't have ever recovered.
When you smoke weed you alter your mood/conscience which is no different than picking up a pill to change how you feel.

You guys obviously no nothing about Heroin and Suboxone and how they affect you mentally and physically.
Please do some reading before you make misinformed posts.
IE: Taking Suboxone is just replacing one drug for another!
WRONG! (Partially true but explanation will show you otherwise)
Suboxone is the newest and best heroin treatment in the world.
NEWSFLASH! Suboxone is an Opioid Antagonist/PARTIAL Agonist meaning it only supplies you w/ a SMALL dose of opiates to curb cravings and reduce withdrawal, and the other ingredient BLOCKS the receptors for incoming opiates yet while blocking, gives you a minor amount on it's own.
I'm very frustrated right now and do not feel like ranting or arguing anymore. You guys don't have any idea what a Heroin addiction is like. Trust me, i've been an addict to multiple other drugs before heroin and I PROMISE you that it was at least 20x easier to quit a very heavy daily cocaine AND Liquor addiction that went on for 2 or 3 years compared to H. This was just before I had done heroin, and I thought I knew what addiction was like then, ha, I had NO idea yet. It's impossible to put yourself in the shoes of someone w/ this addiction. Guarantee it unless you've been there.
I would honestly rather DIE, than to have to wake up and be dope-sick in the morning. THAT'S how bad it is and i'm not exaggerating one bit.
If you felt like you were dying, and I mean honestly here; and there was only 1 thing that could make you feel ANY better and you have quick access to this thing any time you want, don't you think you would probably go get this thing so that you can FUNCTION as a human once again??? I know you would too, it's human nature to do what you can to fix yourself, and when you are so dope sick that you actually want to die, I promise you that you would take the hit too, because within 1 minute you go from the worst you have ever felt in your life, to the best. Simple as that.
I couldn't even get up and go to breakfast w/ my family ANY day unless I had done tar first. I literally am too sore and sick to even leave the house.
I would have to bring at least 3 changes of shirts if I went with because that's how bad I would be sweating, even though I'm ice cold and have the goosebumps. Just trying to give you an idea of how badly the physical part of a heroin addiction is. NO OTHER DRUG HAS PHYSICAL W/D'S NEARLY AS BAD AS HEROIN!!!!!!!!
I'm trying to get you to understand what it feels like but I can't. It's not possible. That's what living w/ a heroin addiction is like.
I feel like DEATH, literally every morning, and the only thing that helps is heroin. Even a tiny amount will bring me back to feeling alive again.
Color will return to my skin within 1 minute of the first hit off the foil. Warmth flows the all of my extremities. Happiness shines and my depression instantly disappears. Until later.
I'm so FUCKING SICK OF THIS ROUTINE THAT I WOULD RATHER DIE THAN GO BACK ON THAT CYCLE OF DEATH-LIFE-DEATH-LIFE. It's causing me and her to both go insane... Suboxone will save me whether any of you like it or not. I don't care what you have to say about it because I know its a miracle drug and has already saved many thousands of lives. +1 I'd much rather take Suboxone for 2-3 weeks than be on Methadone for the rest of my life. Oh yeah, one last thing. You can say what you want but Cannabis was the best medicine along with Sub. to treat W/D's. It's almost like having chemo, getting sick constantly, and it just makes you feel at ease in your stomach. I'll smoke as much fucking weed as I please as long as I'm not doing heroin.
