Hello everyone. After a bit of googling and searching the growery threads i am still unsure as to wich grow light system seems to be the best.
From what i understand 1000watt HPS is the way to go, but im just not sure which system to go with and what site to get it from. i dont want to get ripped off or buy the wrong shit.
any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks.

If you want to go all the way, buy a digital ballast (which will set you back about 400 bucks). As far as the reflector, I like Hydrofarm products, but SunSystems and several others make ones that will do the job just fine. On the other hand, my first ballast was a 1000w magnetic switchable ballast (so I could run MH in veg and HPS in flower) that cost me very little on Craigslist. It also did a great job, and if you're a new grower, this might be the route I suggest rather than getting the best of the best for your first grow.

I also bought a 400 watt digital ballast (also switchable) off ebay for $100 and it came with an HPS and MH bulb. normal price for that ballast is 160-170. so ebay and craigslist are good places. but i think most of us would agree on our recommendation for HID's over other lights.
