I have shit like that happen to me a lot. Many more people know me than I know them. Thousands. It comes with owning a couple of retail stores during a 15 year period along with a few other variables. Really weirds me the fuck out sometimes when someone remembers so much detailed shit about me and I don't have a fucking clue who they are.

There are also a lot of stories I've heard about me that are not even remotely true at all or are so warped from the real story that I hardly recognize where it's coming from. That can be funny at times and seriously not funny at others.

Add to that the fact that I'm a paranoid by nature and shit can get really weird inside my head. I've had a couple of near psychotic break downs where I got all paranoid adding to many dots together and painting a picture that had me feeling very much like whatever that movie is where the dude finds out his life is a TV show. Everyone I knew suddenly and obviously played some role in my life in which everyone was in on it but me. In a malevolent way at that.

Glad as well as fortunate for me and some others that I got a grip and acted on those paranoid suspicions in the way that I had come up with a plan for. Shit could have really gotten fucked up. The mind can be a treacherous play ground. Real life experiences have given me a bit of insight on some really sick and infamous criminals that have become the fodder of news, movies and novels.

How I've kept myself a free man all of these years either from the nut house or a prison is nothing less than a miracle. I'm keeping my fingers crossed still.

Yeah that does sound sketchy as hell but it's really hard to make a lot of without actually being there and knowing both of you and all of the little details first hand. Could just be the guy is weird and awkward. Could be a set up. Either way I think you made the right decision. There really is no point in getting involved in the situation with him since he is not a close friend and you are not a hard up desperate for cash crack head or something. You did the right thing for sure.
