after you have seen preflowers but before you switch to 12/12. do you mean time of the day? Don't think that matters but not sure.

actually i've heard that in the morning like as your lights kickin back on is the best. Guess its when it has the most of the hormone that helps with root development for clones. Never got to test this theory tho. But you can take clones whenever really as long as its not going to end up killing the plant...
Hell i've even harvested, then a day later tried to root the main stem and it worked; but it died soon after lol.
