quantum physics just confuses the fuck out of me. particles behave differently when you watch them? ugh.

That article you linked got me thinking though. I'm game to believe that maybe the galaxies and things that we can measure have a pattern of flow, but I'm still not convinced this can be applied to EVERYTHING (ie the universe)

Oh man quantum physics fascinates and enthralls me to no end.

ever heard of the holographic paradigm? It makes so much sense but it kind of makes you go crazy after studying it for a while.. for me and several of my friends at least.

Yeah I dug it when I first saw it when I was like 15 but its not too well respected by the scientific community. It's made by the same people as The Secret and they throw in a lot of their unsubstantiated ideas in with the legitimate physics which some people weren't too happy about because it's misleading.
That quantum mysticism statement kind of irks me. I can see why you would say that about What the Bleep Do We Know but I got mad respect for the physics behind quantum mechanics.
Some of the very best documentaries I've seen on the subject have been from Nova and this guy:

The mysticism comment was directed at holographic paradigms (which, you must admit, IS quantum mysticism  )
The majority of quantum physics is really interesting though, I wish I knew more! I might order a book or two off amazon or something...
Just found a torrent for dune. is it worth buying acid for, cause i would be down to trip this weekend and watch it

Hell yes dude trip face and have your mind melted. Most definitely worth it especially if you've never seen it before and aren't familiar with the books. The Dune movie by David Lynch in 1984 is the only film adaptation worth watching at all and it's a masterpiece.
I believe some pretty weird things man and I guess you could call it mysticism. The holographic paradigm logically explains to me many things nothing else can. Getting into Buddhism and quantum physics has put a lot of sense into insights and experiences I've had under the lucidity of LSD and DMT. I can't say a lot of things for certain but I just have to go with what makes the most sense to me.

Buddhism, eh? Do you meditate? I've been doing zazen for the past couple years, it's kinda crazy
I believe some weird shit too, but sometimes I step back and just think "nahhhhhhhhh"

I meditate but in no particular way of practice. What does zazen entail?
I usually sit down in a dark quiet room alone or with a few close friends and we sit in silence for 30 minutes to an hour at a time. After about 20 minutes I fall into a very nice lucid state and start seeing designs of light and having images and thoughts come to me. It's extremely calming and the sensation stays for a good while afterward.

With zazen you're basically supposed to use breathing to channel your focus and try to (eventually) stop conscious thought. It can be pretty interesting...
It's weird to me to meditate with other people though. i get distracted. For a while I was meditating once when i woke up and once before i went to sleep almost every day, but I've sort of stopped cause I got too busy for it.
But now I'm a lazy bum so I might get back into it
