This place has been slow all weekend.
But i am dealing with my youngest step son. He seems to be stealing from everyone lately and lying. Well so far he has had 3 incidents, 2 cell phones and an ipod last weekend. Now this weekend just moments ago i walk into my bedroom and find him going through my stuff!
I am at the end of my rope with this kid! He is 9 yrs old and have done as much as i can as far as discipline goes. My wifey is sick with the flu and can not really deal with it at the moment. Anyone have kids? Anyone with some suggestions? I'm fed up!

Dude stealing is NOT ok haha. Send him to his room and make him return the stuff he stole. The embarassment is punishment enough.

NO TV!! NO COMPUTER!! Locks on doors/stuff. Take him down to police station and scare the shit outta him. Tell him that is where ull end up if u keep stealing.....or....tell him ur gonna turn him in and hes gonna go to jail but ACTUALLY take him there. Thatll forsure teach him to stop. Good Luck

We are beyond all the listed idea's. Been there done that.
He has been made on all 3 occasions to give back the stuff himself.
He has been grounded, got lickin across his ass and now across the hands that seem to steal. He was grounded to his room when this last incident happened, aswell as being ground from the outside world for months now. No company, no going places, etc. After each time he did it the punishments got worse and longer, but seemed to not sink into his thick skull!
Cop involvment was a thought, but tried that with the older step son and almost backfired on us for obvious reasons. This is just so flusterating when you run out of ideas on how to fix this problem!

Tell him that if he ever steals again you will not only have him return the object he stole but also something that he owns that is very close to his heart. And you are dead serious.

I am not sure why or what his intentions are? He has said he wants to be cool with friends. But what he was doing in my room going thru my stuff had nothing to do with being cool with friends. What blew my mind is he was in there to begin with. While we are here, WTF!!!
