Well take a look whats heading my way http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/west/cpac/loop-avn.html

Path is heading right towards us, but hoping it ends up dwindling down to tropical storm by land fall. Either way, its my first hurricane!

State has just been put under tropical storm watch!

And flash flood warning have also been issued. Could get interesting 4 sure!

Yes it could be sure to be safe and pay attention to what happening and where to go if needed.

I never forget my first two around here, shit went wild quickly.

I worked in the last two tho, they were much smaller.

Got me and the Family prepared for the most part. I got my sanity herb and they got food and water. Batteries are charged and ready. Lanterns and candles are ready to go. Hoping for a good flush of mushies after the storm. :rastana:

Got the shelters down, signed up for civil defense warnings on my cell a week ago when they said it was coming off the baha coast.

Hurricane has been downgraded to tropical storm status!
Check out the link i posted at top with weather loop, It just fizzled! was a perfect looking hurricane last night and now is just a clump of clouds...lol

Well its not over yet!
Living on a rock with slopes can be not so good in strong rains.
Still expect heavy flash floods and stronger then normal winds. Being an island made of solid lava rock, water does not soak into the ground but rather runs down hill to the ocean. Rock slopes start giving out creating landslides. Gulches fill with debris and roads get blocked. So i still expect to feel a good chunk of this storm.

the cost of living is outrageous!
But i guess you pay to live in paradise?
I wouldn't trade my high cost of living for anything, It's just well worth the prices you pay to be here. People are wonderful, The food is 1st class and tons of it. Flowers grow in almost every tree, bush, and grasses. Work was plentiful. Ohh and yeah, the cops are few! So they really do leave you alone unless your a lil punk! then they just kick your ass!

nice big 3-4 bdrm. homes are coming down to under a grand. Typically these homes would have been going for $1500-$2500/month. But really depends on what part of the island your wanting to stay. I live up north in an old plantation town which has been made into a ritzy hippie of olden days homes. Moderate income living. Now if you go south to puna, There is not much for civilization or modern convience but homes are cheap

Studio or 1 bdrms and be from $500-$1000. Shopping around is a must for renting out here.

Yeah, the big island is still kinda "old fashion". Lots of country and only 2 real cities one on each side of the island. I love it out here!
The girls are sooooo pretty, the oceans are clear and lots of activity to keep you on your toes!
